So it's Job Interview week on Aussie Curves, and (I swear this wasn't intentional) but whilst everyone else is going super-realistic "this is what I would wear to an interview in my industry", I seized the opportunity to pretend i'm some sort of corporate hotshot and dress accordingly.

A Guide to Glamping

Oh boy did it take allll of my efforts to not title this post something about a pearl necklace. But since i'm telling you anyway, I may as well have.

Here's another look from my adventurous weekend of dress-ups and photos with Sam. I'm so in love with this crazy outfit! It's nearly over-the-top enough for me. Nearly...

Honestly though, why can't I just wear this everyday? Glitter covered Lime Crime, a thousand pearls, DOUBLE laser cut (this is actually 2 separate pieces) and the faux-fur coat to end all other (thanks Jacqui)! I feel like some sort of hyper-stylised fantasy version of a Guys and Dolls character. And hey, I ain't mad!

Fanta Pants

Sam and I had stupendous amounts of fun this weekend. I went SOUTH OF THE RIVER *dun dun dunnnn* to hang out and meander the streets of his pretty little suburb. We maybe took lots of photos, too.

At one point, we were accosted by a group of guys on bikes, in orange shirts, reeking of booze. They were pretty friendly. A bit too friendly. It's no coincidence that after they (reluctantly) left, I had "No Scrubs" running through my head on repeat (wrong album, but still...).

I'd also like to say that i'm so super proud of myself for this outfit, it actually symbolises some big leaps and bounds in my body pos journey. Only a year ago I wouldn't have been caught dead in ANYTHING bright on the orange/red/pink spectrum. I had it drilled into me from a pretty young age that my complexion is too red for these colours, and should be avoided at ALL COSTS. Since disregarding this advice, I honestly feel like half the rainbow has been opened up, just for ME! Haha!







These tights are from Plus Sized Clothing, who although don't have a very creative name, they actually have a really great range of hosiery and lingerie (I don't know about the rest of it, I haven't had reason to explore yet). Best of all, I really wanted these by the weekend so I called on the Wednesday morning and a really lovely man processed my credit card and had them out the door that day. I got them the next day! Now that's service! I'll be back there for sure!

Takin' Care of Business... Everyday! (Aussie Curves)

So, I was a tiny bit confused about exactly what "everyday" means. I thought maybe I was supposed to wear the same outfit everyday for a week, and then document the result at the end. A study in personal hygiene, perhaps?

But no, probably not.

It's funny because the looks that I usually show are, in fact, my "everyday" looks. I just channel the week's theme into my style. So, I decided to go really low-key, and blog something a little less... curated... if you will.

SPLOOSH TUESDAY (Issue 6)

Hello, and welcome to another wholesome edition of Sploosh Tuesday (it's still Tuesday SOMEWHERE< right?!), the slipperiest nuggets of excitement happening over at Horror Kitsch Bitch headquarters (read: my loungeroom, bed, local coffee shop, uni and/or work lunchroom).

Hot off the press! Ok, so maybe they've been working on it a while. But, the FAT ACTIVISM  VIRTUAL CONFERENCE is happening this weekend!

I'm pretty darn excited to be participating, and hearing incredible speakers like Virgie Tovar and Jes Baker. They just emailed saying they were now accepting questions for the panels. I have too many!!

I think you can still register, it's only $39 OR you can just pay what you can. Which is amazing. I'm not sure exactly how it's going to operate, but i'm so confident it'll be incredible. My phone will be off this weekend. Ok, not really, that's impossible. But metaphorically speaking, IT WILL BE DEAD TO ME.

If you love Modcloth as much as me, you'll know that they have some pretty bangin' plus-size models. Yes, they could do even more to promote body diversity, but you know what else they've done that's amazing?

They've signed a pledge to NOT USE PHOTOSHOP in any of their advertising material. On the rare occasion that they do, they are going to specify that it has been altered. This is a self-imposed pledge, I don't think there will be in policing of it. But you know what? I'm gonna trust them. I'm an innocent til proven guilty kinda gal. And if it's guilty, KILL DEM ALL. *

Morbid, but mind-boggling... in the Victorian Era, it was a tradition for people to have photos taken with their deceased ones, or to memorialise them. In some cases (like with babies), it was the only way they would get to have a family photo taken together.

I have been learning cool things in my new uni course, and one of my subjects brought to my attention The Johnny Cash project. Basically, somebody has created a live-action music video for the song "Ain't No Grave" which was released after his death, and through this project you can go online and claim a still frame from the video. You then recreate that frame in any medium you like, and submit it to the project. Eventually, all of the frames will be connected and we will have incredibly amazing memorial music video for a many who changed lives.

Cute As F...airy Floss! (Aussie Curves)

My goodness, "Denim" week came around again quickly! I was kind of dreading it, because I really only own one piece of denim, and it's my amazing men's overalls seen here and here. I was just like "oh well, gonna have to wear them again" when I remembered that I'd bought these cute little daisy overalls a couple of weeks ago and put them in a drawer for summer. Pfft. Yeah right. GET ON MY BODEH.

More exciting than the daisy denim is the NECKLACE and HAIR BOW! I bought them at Greazefest last weekend, from the awesomely rad and lovely Miss-a-Ree-Guts Creations. Peep her Etsy store here, and chuck her a like on facebook. Her stuff is so kawaii, you will die.







I felt cute as f*ck in this outfit, mostly because i'm so into this stuff from Miss-a-Ree Guts. I haven't really explored the world of girly pastels, so when I saw these pieces I decided there's no time like the present. It was pretty much a given that i'd have to team them with something black, because i'm just not a head-to-toe pastel girl. Although I do LOVE the look. My two favourite kawaii bloggers are Scathingly Brilliant and Cupcake's Clothes. Maybe one day my style will transition more that way ^.^

I had a delicious soup lunch date with the gorgeous Jacqui from Fashion & Pho, and she was kind enough to snap these pics. We also made a fan/friend/stalker from this sufficiently creepy but cool guy, lurking in the alley watching our shoot. Yes, he's smoking on a pipe of some sort. Yes, he could be my soulmate. I guess we'll never know...

Greazefest Goodness & A Gorgeous Dress!

Over the weekend I went to Greazefest for the very first time! Well duh it was the first time, cos it's the inaugural year in Melbourne! Not only did I get to go and perv on all the babin' boys and girls and cars, but I was a babe to be perved on myself!

If you remember from my Curvy Couture Roadshow post, I was all hot and bothered about the collection from Bombshell Vintage. Well you can imagine I nearly dropped dead when she asked me to show-pony for her at the event!!

The day started off a bit rocky with me foolishly disembarking at the wrong train station and having to walk a mile, not being let in at the gate, and then a host of other small dilemmas that got me into a bit of a sweaty tizz. But after I got inside, the other girls modelling were all so lovely and helpful that things quickly calmed down.

It was such a fun experience, and unlike anything i've ever experience before. Normally i'm used to a build up of nerves and excitement, and then a whole song, set or production later I come off stage and buzz on the adrenalin. But this experience was a grand total of 30 seconds on stage, and then the free hit of blood-pumping aftermath. Woo! I'ma do that again!

After the show I went around saying hi to people, and spent wayyy too much money on some jewellery and a couple of ADORABLE prints by Creep Heart. Check my Instagram to see the mini-haul.
