Hag in a Black Leather Jacket (Aussie Curves)

Ermagerd what a week! The first of my uni break, but it was barely even noticeable. With the exception of yesterday, in which I spent the entire day in bed watching The Nanny and Ru Paul's Drag Race. Life ain't all bad!
This week's Aussie Curves challenge was leather. It was also the first time in a long time that I wasn't hanging out with Sam to do photos, and it was not nearly as much fun. Sam, my love, come back to me!
(Note: Sam and I aren't really a couple, and he did not leave me. Just yet.)
It's kind of hard to tell in some of these photos, but these are the snazzy wet look leggings from 17 Sundays.  I wanted these so much after I saw them at the CCR and they really haven't disappointed. They are quite firm, and not quite as elastic-y as traditional leggings, but I expected that based on the looks of them. My favourite thing about them is that they are worn quite high-waisted, which is a big plus for me in terms of comfort factor.

This was my first purchase from 17 Sundays, and it was such a good one. The ladies there are so damn lovely, and really super passionate about PS fashion and the industry in general. <3 <3

This jacket is from Target years and years ago, and is actually an everyday item of mine.

I wear it when I ride my scooter.

This is said scooter, her name is Black Betty II - also known as "Thief Repellent"

because her predecessor was stolen last year. Jerks.

It was so epically cool to meet some Aussie Curves ladies at Tess Munster's Meet & Greet this week! It was such a fun night, and seriously - the room was just PACKED with amazing babes in phenomenal outfits. Filled my heart with joy and love. 

Thanks to those of you who stuck around to see my band, Zombie Scooter Club. We wrote a song called What Would Tess Do, and although I forgot to ask someone to film it, I think the lady herself did! I'ma see if I can get a copy, cos I think anyone who is a hardcore fangirl will totally be able to relate ;)

Beat It, Creep! (Aussie Curves)

Oh man, what a week! What a COUPLE of weeks! So Sam and I finished our uni course on Friday. We're going to be starting a new design course in August, so it ain't the end, but it was still a magical feeling.

To celebrate, we had a date day AND night! After handing in our last assessment, we went for a stroll along the Yarra river, and stopped in at Merrywells for burgers and cherry coke floats with vanilla vodka. If you're in Melbourne, seriously – do yourself a favour and GO THERE. It's all kinds of nom.

This jacket was getting some love on Instagram earlier in the week.

It's just a Kmart coat, with a piece of faux-fur I picked up from H&M. 

I'm so super excited to FINALLY blog about this amazing shirt I got a while ago. I've wanted the time to do it justice, and also it's pretty fitting for the Aussie Curves theme of “Date Night” - I basically live by the creed “beat it, creep” when it comes to dating and smelly boys :)

Also, John Waters is my everything. This shirt makes me so happy!

This is my first purchase from Candy Strike, and let me tell you – I can't wait to get more of their stuff! The quality is incredible, I LOVE the uniqueness of all her designs, and most importantly: I adore supporting independent designers. That is so important to me.

You'll have to forigve my need to photoshop all these photos. It's just that, I love this outfit so much – it's probably my favourite right now. I wanted to go nuts and have fun with these snaps. Speaking of which, big eternal love and thanks to Sam for being such a babin' photographer.

So, aside from all this craziness and excitement, I've got one other doozy. If we're IG friends, you already know, but - MY BAND IS PLAYING AT TESS MUNSTER'S MELBOURNE MEET & GREET! I've kind of been worried that it's been seen as some form of nepotism, since I did organise the event. BUT I did try to get other bands to play, they just weren't able to. So - Zombie Scooter Club stepped in. I'm still waiting, but there'll possibly still be one very special guest playing after us, so you will definitely want to stick around and have a few drinks.

Enforced Optimism

I've been feeling a bit shit lately.

I've been crazy, and hormonal, and mostly i've been sick – there's been a horrible flu going around, and i've had it for 10 days so far. Finally got myself to the doctor today (after deciding my body wasn't going to get rid of it for me), who gave me antibiotics and suggested eucalyptus steams to help with the congestion.

Well, I just spilled the boiling water all over my feet.

Anyway, I've had a good cry and now i'm done feeling sorry for myself, so here's a list of awesome things that I am excited about!

• In just two sittings, I have annihalated the first (and so far only) season of an AWESOME British series called My Mad Fat Diary.
  
  
  
  It is so great, and for so many of us: totally relatable. It's very teen angsty, and they totally NAILED the balance between comedy and drama... there were more than a few “laugh out loud” moments, and I cried multiple times in the last episode.
  Plus, there is a GREAT soundtrack consisting of The Smiths and Radiohead (both bands i've never been an especially big fan of, but who work amazingly in the show), and BJORK! And now I remember how much I love her, and am listening to all her live albums on Spotify (which i've never done before). By the way, did you know her name is pronounced like “Byerk”... i've been saying “Byork” all these years.
  Oh, and one last amazing thing about MMFD before I finish this rant – Sharon Rooney. She plays the main character, Rae, and I think I have a new girl crush. She is SUCH A CHAMP. Here she is being cute:

• On the weekend, I am finally going to make it to a local market to visit a stall called “Hey Fatty”. They specialise in vintage and offbeat fashions for, well, fatties! So excited to drop some cash on them! Here's their website: http://www.heyfatty.com.au/
• Today, even though I was sick and couldn't sing, Jake and I had a band meeting, and i'm totally amped to get back into it. We've just about finished another new song, which brings our original set length up to half an hour, and possibly contains a good chunk of the tracks we will release on our Demo EP. • I paid off another $1000 on my credit card. Which brings the balance extraordinarily low, and is something I am SO STOKED about, because I have been working really hard to get rid of my debt asap. Never doing that again.
• I wanted to be able to say: I JUST BOUGHT MY FIRST BIKINI. But I didn't – but only because I have to borrow my housemate's tape measure to determine the best size, but I WILL in the morning! Seriously! Unless they sell out overnight (which is always possible), I AM ORDERING MY FIRST BIKINI!!
